final project


The project has been created for students of 2ESO, for students of 12 and 13 years old. The group is made up of 25 students. Students are in groups of 4 students each.

They are supposed to have an A2.1 of the Common European Framework of Reference. 
Regarding the students interests, they are varied, since we have students who are interested in manga, music, sports and so on.

The project will be  carried out in the first four months of the academic year. They will talk via Skype twice a month. Except the 12th of October, the 1st of November and 6th and 8th of December since they are local holidays in Spain.

Each month the student will have to hand in a part of the project, for example the food. And the last week they will have to hand in the presentation also. 

For these meeting between the schools, we will use Skype. The students will have already talk via email before the first meeting, so that they have some knowledge about the students and the country.  

The main aim of these meetings is for the students to share their ideas and talk.



Session 1 and 2:


In pairs answer the following questions, then share your answer with the rest of the class.
  • What do you normally eat at Christmas? Do you normally eat Spanish food or you try things from other countries?
  • Have you ever celebrate Christmas in another country?
  • Do you know how people from other countries celebrate Christmas?

Teacher explains the aim: 
- create a presentation, but before, skim one or more article to find all the information you need.

Some things to take into consideration:
  • Find traditional dishes from the country.
  • Include, if possible, information about the meaning of each dish, and if they cook it for some reason.
  • Also explain the origin of the custom if possible .
  • Compare and contrast the information found by the information given by the participants from other European city.

Session 3, 4,5 & 6:
Students talk via Skype with their partners from another country.

Session 7: 
Presentations

Evaluation criteria:
Identify, by applying oral comprehension strategies, the essential information, the principal ideas, general opinions and implications in standard-length well-organised oral texts, in different media.
- Integrate into oral texts, in a critical but empathetic mode, the socio-cultural and socio-linguistic aspects relative to daily life, to interpersonal and intercultural relationships, to social conventions and to their cultural and artistic manifestations.
- Analyse, with a critical yet empathetic attitude, the socio-cultural and socio-linguistics aspects relative to; the interpersonal and intercultural relations, to the socio-economic structure, to social conventions and to cultural and artistic manifestations; evaluating the presence of stereotypes or prejudices, and discriminatory language use

To look for, and select, information, text documents, images, sound tracks and videos; beginning with a strategy of filtration and contrast in digital media such as social networks, sound banks, specialised web pages, dictionaries and encyclopedia or specialised data bases; carefully registering it on paper, or storing it digitally in IT devices or internet services. 
To collaborate and communicate so as to construct a product or collective task; filtering and sharing information and digital contents, selecting the TIC digital communication tools of the web social web services, or appropriate modules of related virtual learning environments. 
To carry out, in an efficient manner, exercises or projects; to make proposals and have confidence in their possible outcomes; showing energy and enthusiasm during their development; taking reasoned decisions; assuming risk and taking responsibility for one’s own actions and their consequences.
